Real women posting across the Ocean State β€” from Federal Hill Providence to Newport's waterfront and the beaches in between

RISD grad show opened tonight and I have opinions about all of it 27

Providence College Hill

Walked the whole show and I've been talking to myself about it for an hour. I need an actual person to process this with. I'm on College Hill and I know which after-party is worth going to. If you're the kind of person who has thoughts about art, message me immediately.

Federal Hill Sunday dinner and somehow I'm eating alone again 34

Providence Federal Hill

I grew up coming to Atwells Avenue for Sunday sauce and I refuse to stop doing it just because I'm single. The food is too good. If you want to eat the best Italian food in New England with someone who already knows the menu, I am right here every Sunday.

Newport Cliff Walk and then wine somewhere with a view 31

Newport Bellevue

Did the whole Cliff Walk this morning and now I'm cleaned up and ready for the other half of a Newport day. I know which places on Bellevue have actual good wine and don't charge you purely for the address. If you're visiting or local, this evening has potential.

TF Green layover turned into me actually staying in Rhode Island 25

Warwick Airport Area

Flight got cancelled, I got a hotel, and now I'm determined to make this an adventure rather than a disaster. I'm near the airport in Warwick and I know nothing about this state except that it's apparently the smallest. Someone fix that. I have all night.

Brown University orientation week and I'm so over campus already 22

Providence Fox Point

First year at Brown and I've spent enough time doing organized activities. I live near Fox Point and I want to find the city that's actually here, not the campus bubble version of it. If you know Providence and you're willing to show me around off-schedule, let's go.

Pawtucket arts scene is having a moment and I've been here the whole time 29

Pawtucket Riverfront

Hope Artiste Village before it was on any list. I've been in this neighborhood for four years watching it become something and I love it. I want to meet someone who appreciates a place that's still becoming. Or just someone who wants to walk the river on a nice evening.

WaterFire night in Providence and I'm watching alone and it's too beautiful 36

Providence Downtown

The braziers are lit on the river and the music is going and this is genuinely one of the best things any city does anywhere and I'm watching it by myself. Come stand next to me and we can act like we planned this. I'm right on the Riverwalk near Steeple Street.

Narragansett beach day ended at 7 and now I'm in Providence 28

Providence Wickenden Street

Perfect beach day, tan and salty, stopped in Providence on the way back because I wasn't ready for the night to end. I'm on Wickenden Street and I smell like sunscreen and good decisions. If you're around the East Side tonight, come see what's left of my summer mood.

Cranston is not Providence and I've made my peace with that 43

Cranston

I live in Cranston and I like it here β€” it's quieter, people actually know their neighbors, the pizza is arguably better. I'm not looking to prove anything or go far. Looking for someone in the greater Providence area who's also done performing and just wants to be somewhere comfortable.

Newport Jazz Festival weekend and I lost my group in the crowd 33

Newport Fort Adams

My friends and I got completely separated at Fort Adams and I have given up finding them. I'm near the main stage with a beer and I am refusing to let this become a bad experience. If you're also at the festival and you want company, I will find you.

Personal Ads Across Rhode Island

Rhode Island's personal ads scene is dense for its size. Providence dominates β€” a city that blends Brown University intellectual energy, RISD creative culture, Federal Hill's Italian-American community, and a thriving downtown arts scene into one of New England's most genuinely interesting social environments. College Hill, Fox Point, Federal Hill, Wickenden Street, and the downtown Riverwalk all generate active posts. WaterFire events and the arts calendar create reliable spikes of activity throughout the year.

Newport operates as its own distinct world β€” a seasonal resort town of extraordinary wealth and history where the Cliff Walk, the Jazz and Folk festivals, and the sailing community create summer activity unlike anywhere else in the state. Warwick serves the airport corridor and year-round suburban community, while Cranston and Pawtucket offer genuine neighborhood character and quieter alternatives to the city center. The whole state is small enough that people move between areas easily, which keeps the scene fluid and connected.

Popular Areas in Rhode Island

  • Providence – College Hill & Wickenden Street – Most active posting area, university and arts community
  • Providence – Federal Hill & Downtown Riverwalk – Dining scene and WaterFire events, Italian-American community
  • Newport – Bellevue & Fort Adams – Seasonal luxury scene, Jazz and Folk Festival peaks
  • Warwick – TF Green Corridor – Business travel and suburban year-round community
  • Cranston & Pawtucket – Neighborhood character, quieter suburban alternatives to Providence
